Welcome to the Japanese theater!

Imagine...

You live in a time when Japan is very isolated due to the shogun ending foreign contact. Laws, rules, and society is very strict.  Focus wasn't needed in military and in order to escape from the very controlled world, people look to enhance the visual arts. In such a fashion, theater flourished.

There are four types of Japanese theater: Kabuki, Kyogen, Bunraku, and Noh.

This site focuses mainly on Kabuki and Kyogen.

I chose to do Japanese theater because theater is always fun, i wanted to see the differences between now and then, and i love acting!
